EXIM BANK MALAYSIA HOSTS NETWORKING SESSION IN HONOUR OF THE VISIT FROM REPUBLIC OF TOGO.

Kuala Lumpur (11 April 2014) - Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank) today hosted a networking session supported by CIDB, MATRADE and MIDF in conjunction with the visit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Togo and its business delegates. The session offered a rare opportunity for the business community to gain greater insights into the Republic as a new investment destination.

His Excellency Mr. Robert Dussey, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Togo stated, “Many people are unaware of the investment opportunities in The Republic of Togo. We have made significant progress on political and economic reforms. We look forward to meet with any Malaysian companies that will contribute to mutual prosperity for both countries”.

Speaking at the event, Encik Wan Zalizan Wan Jusoh, Chief Operating Officer welcomed the business delegations noting, “EXIM Bank’s support for the networking session demonstrates just how much potential for growth and development in generating new businesses in Republic of Togo. I firmly believe this networking session is critical to fostering the exchanges and information sharing that ensures Malaysian companies to consider partnering with the Republic of Togo,” added Encik Wan Zalizan.

The Chief Business Officer of EXIM Bank, Encik Chairil Mohd Tamil also commented that local companies should fully tap the opportunities available in Togo. “We are encouraging investors to tap new opportunities in support for more viable SMEs to go outside of the nation. If it is a viable business venture, EXIM Bank is ready to assist,” he further explained.

The session was well attended by public and private sectors, local business communities and business delegation from the Republic. The session aims to facilitate productive dialogue between the Malaysian business community and the foreign delegates as part of its effort to enhance business opportunities particularly in the areas of infrastructure, oil & gas, power generation and agriculture.
